A Brief History
The Elberfeld Town Marshal's Office was established in 1907.  On April 24, 1907 Frank M. Bethel was appointed by the Town's newly formed Board of Trustees to serve in this position.  His salary was set at $25.00 per month.

There are currently 2 part time officers assigned to the department.  At no time in the 100 year history has there been a full-time Marshal or Deputy Marshal in Elberfeld.  The Town is also served by the Warrick County Sheriff's Office which responds to calls and emergencies whenever an officer from the Marshal's service is unavailable.

Officers currently assigned to the Elberfeld Town Marshal's Office are certified by the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy above the level required by the State of Indiana.
